Metrix Jewelry: Press Release

Jewelry isn’t just some silver or gold accessory ladies get on holidays with diamonds and hearts and dainty clasps that are frustratingly small for the average person’s finger. Lisa Mignoli shows us just how expressive and badass jewelry can be through her brand, Metrix Jewelry.

It was through her first metalsmithing class at The Fashion Institute of Technology that marked the beginnings of her career in design. Lisa ultimately graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Business Management, and went to work for a large teen retailer doing visual merchandising. But the mass market was not satisfying her desire for careful curation and craftsmanship. She leaned into her passions and founded Metrix Jewelry in 2015, fully embracing handmade culture.

Native to New York–a city equally as expressive and badass–Lisa, has been shaped by her electric and eclectic environment. The fast-pace of the city serves as the contrasting force to her geometry-inspired jewelry creations. You might not be certain to catch the L train into Brooklyn on time, but a square will always have four sides, and you can count on that. She is inspired by the balanced forces of the world around her.

You will see these dueling dichotomies in Lisa’s metal work. Starting from brass or sterling silver wire or sheets, the final form of a piece is developed over a transformative process of thoughtful experimentation and vision. She juxtaposes elements like leather and brass, playing with darkness and light, showcasing how they complement each other’s power. As always, each piece is designed and metalsmith’ed by Lisa personally. Her signatures are her large statement earrings, featuring bold, industrial shapes.

When you wear Metrix, you wear a message. Lisa’s work resonates with strong voices and brands who share a similar mission to confidently embrace the balance of the world. Her pieces have been seen on Katy Perry, the cover of Harpers Bazaar Kazakhstan, and on the hit televsion show, How To Get Away With Murder. Her collections have expanded to include a line of men’s jewelry, as well as a line of home decor. So much more than a statement accessory, use your jewelry to tell a story. Find your message here
