“Hiii Everyone!
Welcome to my first ever NEWSLETTER! It’s been a long time coming and in light of reality (or unreality/insanity) it seems like the perfect time. I really miss everyone and hearing the fun, loving, boring, bitchy, even monotonous drama of everyone’s daily lives. I feel like now more than ever it’s important to stay connected and NOT ‘slowly lose our minds’ in the isolated, social distance bubbles we call our apartments. As hard and lonely as it has been, I’ve been trying to stay positive and take advantage of the gift of time and make the most of it. I’ve been focusing on Naked Label and creative projects in ways I’ve needed to for years. New facets, new collections, new materials, new business strategies, new newsletters! You name it, it’s probably in my “to-do” list. So each week I’ll distract myself and YOU by focusing on something new and creative and telling you ALL about it. I’ll also send along fun facts and info about plants, my fav flowers, mood images that inspire me, discounts, and VIP insider gossip just to name a few. 🙂
Ok back to the to-do list. The first on the list was to do a fruit study photoshoot, using some of the new earrings I’ve been neurotically spiralling…
Lead Story – Fruit Shoot (photos)
The fruit study came about as I was eating a tangerine and slowly peeling back the skin on each segment, remembering as a child they were magical fruit crystals. I realized I had a lot of fruit in the apartment and decided it was time for a Fruit Shoot! I’d already made some new jewelry and new homeware, and color-wise they all fit together perfectly. The new homeware, much like the jewelry, is inspired by galaxies and the ocean, each its own unique world. I’ve been revisiting my OG jewelry and ceramic practices using resin, clay, and paint to make clear and watery space-like vessels (and jewelry coming soon!). My photographer, aka my live-in boyfriend, was easy to bring onto the project. Since we’ve been together, he has turned into my go-to, my dream team. His eye and expertise in lighting always elevate my ideas and designs. Together we built a set in our tiny apartment and played with fruit all day. 🙂

Plant guide or flower guide… a diff flower or plant a week?
I’m going to attach photos of my first “plant guide” which I will be calling “Plant Party (who’s your new roommate?)”
*Plant Party (who’s your new roommate?!)
Part 1: Succulents, Senecio Peregrinus
Growing up in Florida, I was always surrounded by Green. North Florida has a particularly beautiful mix of temperate, subtropical, and tropical forests. It took me 10 yrs of living in New York to realize how much I missed it. Once I did, it led me to have a wide array (addiction some might say) of plants filling and overflowing in my Brooklyn apartment. As well as starting me a career in floral design, which was often mixed with plant sales on the side. You can’t have the flowers without the plants! One of my newest and favorite plant babies is the String of Dolphin. It’s a rare type of trailing succulent, each leaf looks like a leaping dolphin…. swoon ❤

Care tips:
Like most succulents, you want to let the soil completely dry out before watering and make sure it gets plenty of bright light!
Although they are rare, I’ve been seeing them more and more. They’re very easy to grow and propagate.
Stay tuned to Naked Label’s Instagram this week for a chance to win a free ‘Sicily’ (Leather) Planter!
Thanks Everyone for following me on this journey.
Hope everyone is staying healthy, safe, and cute!
